Blossom Restaurant Review

Recently, I was at Blossom for a dear friend's birthday celebration. They are known for their gourmet organic vegan cuisine and I have always heard good things about it. I never tried when I was "raw", because it was cooked and these days I am not rushing over there because it's "vegan". However, I am happy to report their food is not all based around soy. They use seitan, but it wasn't in every dish and in my phyllo roulade- it's presence was amiss.

Phyllo Roulade ~18
French lentils and root vegetables baked in a phyllo crust,
served over a carrot-cream sauce.
Caramelized onions and swiss chard complement.

Rigatoni in Porcini Cream ~19
Cooked with shallots, leeks, and broccoli rabe,
finished with pistachio gremoulata and truffle oil.

Feijoadinha with Smokey Tempeh ~19
A lighter version of “Feijoada,” the Brazilian national dish:
a stew of smokey roasted tempeh, black beans, chayote squash,
and sweet potatoes, in an orange-lime broth.

We also shared some appetizers... black eyed pea cakes (our #1), parsnip cappelletti, and ravioli with cashew cream. Everything was really delicious with the exception of their "ice cream" that was soy based and icy. Don't let that minor detail hold you back... it's definitely worth a dinner.
