(Rumblings of Sauerkraut)
In the May 2010 issue of Elle Magazine, page 227-228, they have a good sized article about "sauerkraut being sexy". I had a little chuckle, but think it's definitely a good thing. It mentions Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig's cult book, "Nourishing Traditions"... apparently if you own this book you are, "an ahead-of-the-curve foodie". I was chucking over that too.
It describes in brief the benefits of sauerkraut and fermented foods. On a side note, Belgian chain Le Pain Quotidien (one of my favourite places for a quick bite- it's fresh + organic) uses natural ferments, and Mast Brothers Chocolate (from Brooklyn, NY) gets more chocolatey by way of fermentation. Sexy sexy!
